Action Center
Action Center is my first public plugin: a free WordPress plugin for nonprofits and advocacy groups that publish Calls to Action - petitions, public comment windows, letter-writing campaigns, volunteer asks. It gives every action a proper home on your site and keeps the time-sensitive ones at the top of the pile.
It grew out of my work with the Emerald Curtain Collective, and their Action Center is the working example if you want to see it running on a live site.
- A listing page via a
[cta_list]shortcode - urgent deadline actions first, then ongoing ones, with type and organization filters - Per-action detail pages with steps, sample texts, links, files, and videos
- An embeddable Upcoming CTAs block for any other page on your site
- A public JSON feed other sites can consume
- AI-assisted CTA drafting via the WordPress MCP connector
- Built-in automatic updates from GitHub releases
One caution: deleting the plugin removes its data. If you just want to pause it, deactivate instead - deactivating leaves your actions in place.
